Diocese of Albenga : ウィキペディア英語版 | Roman Catholic Diocese of Albenga-Imperia
The Diocese of Albenga-Imperia ((ラテン語:Dioecesis Albinganensis-Imperiae)) is a Roman Catholic ecclesiastical territory in Liguria, northern Italy; the historical Diocese of Albenga had its name changed in 1973. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Genoa.〔(''Catholic Hierarchy'' page )〕 ==History==
Legend makes Albenga between the years 121 and 125 the scene of the martyrdom of Calocerus of Brescia (Calogero), an officer of the court of Hadrian. But the ''Acts'' of his martyrdom, together with those of Faustinus and Jovita with which they are incorporated, are not historically verified. The first bishop of whom we know anything is Quintius, who in the year 451 signed the Synodal Letter of Eusebius, Bishop of Milan, to Pope Leo I, in which the condemnation of Nestorius and Eutyches was sanctioned.〔(''Catholic Encyclopedia'' article ), which cites Gian Domenico Mansi’s ''Sacrorum Conciliorum nova et amplissima collectio''.〕
